Your trained eye sees opportunity where others see only dirt and stone. Prospecting allows you to locate and assess valuable mineral deposits, including ores, stone, gems, and other resources. By understanding geological patterns and natural formations, you can identify promising sites for mining and excavation.

By directly observing the mineralization in rock outcrops and sediments, studying soil composition, and sifting through environmental clues, you can determine the likelihood of various mineral deposits in the area.

A single use of this Action allows you to evaluate the potential presence of mineral resources everywhere within Near Range. The DT to identify the presence or absence of minerals is based on the difficulty of accessing and harvesting the target minerals.

A successful Check only identifies presence of the mineral resource you are actively trying to locate.

        After locating a mineral deposit, you must analyze the quality of the deposit. You carefully remove a small mineral sample for analysis to determine the quality and type of material present. A successful Check reveals the quality of the analyzed mineral.

        Each Rank beyond the first reveals one additional piece of relevant information about the analyzed sample.

        Through skill and training, you have learned to more quickly perform long, tedious Actions with the same level of proficiency. When using this Ability, you may reduce the Tempo of Actions by a set amount for each Rank of this Augment as shown on the following table.

        This Augment cannot reduce Tempo to 0. You must always spend a minimum increment of time based on the reduction. For example, the Tempo an Action that takes 1 hour or less cannot be reduced below 5 minutes.

      • Seismic Insight

        By tapping into vibrations in the earth, you gain an enhanced sense of underground structures. You get a rough mental image of the underlying structures, allowing you to potentially recognize the presence of unusual or artificial terrain.

        In addition, when surveying for minerals buried underground, you may subtract the Rank of this Augment from the DT based on depth to a minimum of 0. This affects only the depth modifiers, not other aspects of DT.

        Choose one specific Resource when you gain this Augment, such as Copper Ore, Spirit Lotus, or Aqueous Crysmuth. When using this Ability, you may add the Rank of this Augment to any Checks made to locate, harvest, process, or work with the chosen Resource.

        Unlike other Augments, you can gain multiple instances of this Augment. You must choose a different specific Resource each time you do. Each instance of this Augment has its own Rank and must be advanced separately.
