Mighty Blow

Might / Prowess
Weapon Skill (Common)
Warrior-Exclusive

By sacrificing speed and technique to focus on raw power, you can unleash a truly mighty blow. While these large, powerful swings are more easily evaded, they are devastating and deadly when they connect.

Mighty Blow can only be used with melee weapons of sufficiently large size, usually wielded in two-hands.

Default Action

Mighty Blow

Tempo: [w]+2.
Range: Adjacent.
DT: Evasion.

You put more power into your attacks, making them slower but far more powerful. This Action increases the Tempo of your weapon by 2 but deals additional damage equal to your Might plus the Rank of Mighty Blow.

Attacking with only raw strength makes your attacks renders your strikes slow and predictable. You do not add the Ability Rank to your Check when attacking with this Action.

      • Beatdown

        Tempo: [w]+2.
        Range: Adjacent.
        DT: Evasion.

Your powerful attacks unbalance your foes, knocking them to the ground with a successful attack. On a successful hit, this attack adds the Knocked Down status to the target. If your target has an Ability to resist this status, the DT of their Check is equal to the Check you made for this Action.

      • Knockback

        Tempo: [w]+2.
        Range: Adjacent.
        DT: Evasion.

Your powerful attacks drive your foes back, pushing them away with a successful attack. On a successful hit, your target is moved away from you from Adjacent to Near. If your target has an Ability to resist this movement, the DT of their Check is equal to the Check you made for this Action.

  • Augments

    • Basic

      • Powerful Strikes

Your melee weapon attacks made with this Ability deal additional damage equal to the Rank of Powerful Strikes.

      • Reckless Strikes

        Tempo: +1.

By recklessly swinging your weapon about, you are able to put a bit more strength into your attacks; however, your accuracy suffers. When attacking with this Ability, you may choose to take Disadvantage 1 on your Check to gain bonus damage equal to the Rank of Reckless Strikes.

Unfortunately, your reckless swings also leave you open to a potential counterattack.

      • Wide Swing

        Tempo: +1 per additional target.

If you are adjacent to more than one participant, you can power through the first to strike a second target. You make one System Check and compare the result of that Check to each individual target’s Defenses to determine if that target is hit.

Each Rank of Wide Swing allows you to attack one additional adjacent target. So, with Rank 4 Wide Swing, you could attack up to 5 different targets.

Damage is divided equally among all targets successfully hit.
