Dueling

Agility / Prowess
Combat Style (Uncommon)

Dueling emphasizes finesse, agility, and expert blade work, allowing you to engage in one-on-one combat scenarios with unmatched precision and grace.

Dueling requires the use of a light sword wielded in one hand. You may not use Dueling while equipped with a shield larger than a buckler.

Default Action

Thrust

Tempo: [w]+2.
Range: Adjacent.
DT: Evasion.

You make a basic attack with a melee weapon you wield, dealing normal damage for that weapon plus your Agility Attribute.

  • Actions

    • Basic

      • Tempo: [w].

By making a false attack, you throw an opponent off-balance as they react to it. This attack deals no damage. If successful, you gain Advantage 1 on your next attack against that target. You must make this attack within a number of turns equal to the Rank of Feint, or this bonus is lost.

This Action does not reset the Count. Instead it only reduces your current Count by its Tempo.

      • Parrying Stance

        Tempo: [w].

Your blade flashes through the air, turning aside attacks made against you. While you maintain this stance, you add the Rank of Parrying Stance to your Evasion.

        Stance Action: Parry

        Tempo: [w].

If an enemy attacks you with a weapon while you maintain this stance, you may use a Reaction to attempt to parry that attack. The result of this Check replaces your normal Evasion against that attack, even if the result is worse.

Using this Reaction does not reset the Count. Instead it only reduces your current Count by its Tempo.

  • Augments

    • Basic

      • Accuracy

        Tempo: +1.

When attacking with this Ability, you may add your Accuracy Rank to the Check by slightly increasing the Tempo. The Accuracy Augment only applies when the DT is based on Evasion.

      • Quick Strikes

        Tempo: -Rank.

You may reduce the Tempo of your attack, allowing you to attack more quickly; however, you cannot put as much strength into your attacks. When making an attack, you may reduce the Tempo by a number less than or equal to the Rank of Quick Strikes. The Tempo can not be reduced to less than 1.

Subtract the same number from the damage of all attacks you make, to a minimum of 1 damage.
